Sourcing

How you choose to make you church newsletter or magazine available will naturally depend upon the purpose of your publication and your target group of readers.

For simple publications aimed at church members only, this may require nothing more than leaving your newsletters in suitable piles near the entrance of the church, with an honesty box for payment if a cover price applies.

Some churches allocate one or more individuals to deliver batches of magazines to sub-groups of members, via home groups, prayer groups or other natural focal points within the local church organisation.

For newsletters or magazines destined for a much wider audience, it will be necessary to find more ambitious distribution channels. Local shops, post offices (a dwindling facility in many rural areas!) or even pubs are often happy to provide facilities for such distribution, again with an honesty box if necessary.

Perhaps the most reliable method of distribution is based on a willing group of volunteers who are prepared to deliver your publication door-to-door, supplemented (if necessary) by mailing direct to any additional subscribers who do not live in the immediate area of distribution.
