In order to create visually appealing magazines and websites, it is important for editors (or their creative assistants) to get to grips with computer-based software tools that enable the manipulation of graphical elements such as clipart, cartoons and photographs.

ACE recommends Serif software, and Serif applications (e.g., PagePlus, WebPlus, and PhotoPlus) will be demonstrated through hands-on exercises and practical demonstrations.

The Association for Church Editors runs a series of workshops at various locations around the UK. The fees are modest, and simply serve to cover our costs. The workshops are designed to assist church newsletter and magazine editors to graduate from simple word processor-based publications to the use of desktop publishing (DTP) technologies and the design and publication of complementary websites for far more pleasing results.
